Sam and Stella Stout donated this 35.2 acre property to Purdue University in 1964, for research and education purposes. Their generous gift has enabled Purdue’s Forestry and Natural Resources Department to conduct research on a number of aspects concerning tree growth.

Along this trail you will see many trees that have white numbers painted on them or have tags attached to them. These are indicators that you are wandering through research plots set up by Purdue professors and students.
