New EEOs, guidelines for media highlight style guide updates

New Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) statements and a section on working with the media are the main additions to a revised Purdue Extension Style Guide.

The EEO statement was updated in August. The Style Guide contains the full version of the new EEO, as well as Spanish translations of the statement and usage guidelines. The updated Purdue Extension EEO statement also is available online at www.extension.purdue.edu/eeo.htm.

If you’ve been using any of the Purdue Extension templates for Word or Publisher from the Purdue Extension Communication Survival Guide, you should download the updated templates that include the new EEO statement. You do not need to update the e-templates (the e-newletter, e-invitation, and e-impact statement) because those templates link to the online EEO statement — so it’s automatically updated.

The Style Guide also contains a new section that provides guidelines for how to refer to Purdue Extension programs when working with the news media.
