Workforce Development & Community Engagement Staff development should be timely, effective, local, and affordable. If your organization is seeking to help your employees and volunteers develop current work related skills so they can better serve your clients, please consider the Education Center of Tipton County as one of your partners in helping to provide them with high quality educational opportunities. We are here to help supplement your existing training programs or even provide much of your workforce development programs. Some of your employees may benefit from learning workplace essentials such as teamwork, good work practices, effective communications, and basic math and English. Some of your employees may need to take continuing professional education to maintain a license. Others may need to take a specific skills-building course, such as basic conversational Spanish or effective customer interaction skills. The Education Center of Tipton County wants to assist you by providing your employees with the necessary training that will develop or enhance work related skills. We'll be able to offer classes and workshops at your organization or at our center. We'll be able to provide distance learning and face-to-face instruction, non-credit and for university credit. We'll even pool similar needs for training of local businesses and organizations to make a class feasible to provide locally. We have a network of colleges and universities, as well as local instructors, to tap upon to try to solve your specific staff development needs. The Education Center of Tipton County enjoys a good working relationship with local organizations striving to help make Tipton County a vibrant economic community. As a partner in our community, we can often help local industry obtain some free professional consulting from Purdue University on matters that need technical expertise to solve an operational problem. Community development is very important and Purdue University stands ready to assist, by partnering with our community, with its staff of community engagement professionals that will enhance, not compete with, local efforts. The Education Center of Tipton County can serve as a clearinghouse of information such as funds availability from Indiana to assist you with some training costs. We will provide meaningful links to websites of interest, so please return here often to see if new links may be of some help to you.
