Dr. Stephen Hawkins

Dr. Stephen Hawkins is currently the Assistant Director Purdue Agricultural Centers where his responsibilities are to assist in administering the eight regional research centers located around the state and to facilitate research and extension activities at the centers. 

Dr. Hawkins is also involved in global positioning research related to production agriculture, the adoption of new site technologies at the research centers, and the development of intensive rotational grazing systems at the Purdue Ag Centers.  The use of site specific technologies in production research

Dr. Hawkins has worked with poultry and sheep producers and with the staff at the Davis-Purdue Ag Center to implement carcass composting.  He has worked with the staff at the Animal Science Research and Extension Center to compost solid manures and feed wastes.

Dr. Hawkins has also held positions at Purdue University, Department of Agronomy as a Extension Soil Fertility Specialist, and at Oklahoma State University, Department of Agronomy, as a Sorghum and Corn Extension Specialist.
