Eligible Applicants
College of Agriculture sophomores who have completed 30 hours (28 graded), have a minimum grade point average of 3.50 (A = 4.00), and no grade below “C”. Past recipients who have successfully completed their sophomore year may apply for a one-year renewal. Emphasis is placed on majors in the plant sciences and/or agribusiness (Departments of Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Biochemistry, Botany and Plant Pathology, Entomology, Horticulture), but outstanding students in other disciplines may be considered. A student may receive both an Elsie Gruel Scholarship and the Woods Scholarship.

$2,500.00 - renewable for one additional year

One annually. At any given time, there should be one sophomore and one junior R.J. Woods Scholar.
