Bachelor of Science Degree
Pre-Environmental Studies
The Pre-Environmental
Studies program of study is intended to serve as a portal for students
entering Purdue with an interest in environmental studies who are
uncertain as to the particular area or specific program of study
in which they want to enroll.
Students who wish to begin
in a departmental specific program may do so without going through
the Pre-Environmental Studies program of study.
The Pre-Environmental
Studies program of study is expected to:
1. Provide undecided students
with an interest in some aspect of science and the environment the
opportunity to take courses and explore specific departmental programs
during their first year before selecting a departmental major.
2. Satisfy minimum first-year
course requirements in various environmental science-related programs
offered by departments in the Colleges of Agriculture, Engineering,
and Science.
3. Provide students with
the opportunity to take courses (EAS 113, FNR 103, NRES 290 and
the Pre-Environmenal Studies specific division of AGR 101) that
will facilitate exposure to multiple fields of environmental study
and opportunities.
