
Bachelor of Science Degree
Forestry
The forestry program prepares
students for professional careers with organizations that manage
forest and related lands. Students apply biological, ecological,
economic, and social knowledge to develop and administer forest
management plans. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Forestry
degree. The program is accredited by the Society of American Foresters.
This Department of Forestry and Natural Resources curriculum has
common core requirements with the fisheries and aquatic sciences,
natural resources, and wildlife curricula. Sustainable management
of natural resource systemsfocusing on forests, watersheds,
and associated flora and fauna to meet the needs of society---is
emphasized.
