Before you attend Day on Campus you must complete the Calculus Readiness Test (CRT)

 

Before You Arrive

Set Up a Purdue Online Career Account
Establish your Purdue Identifier (PUID) number and online student
career computer account before Day on Campus. With these,
you access essential information and services that you may need
before you come.


To set up your Purdue career account:

• Visit www.purdue.edu/helpdesk.
• Click on "Admitted Students" in the top menu bar.
• Confirm your PUID, Purdue e-mail address, online
username/career account, and online password.
• Memorize this information. You'll use it throughout your Purdue career.


Take the Calculus Readiness Test

The College of Agriculture requires you to take an online Calculus Readiness Test before Day on Campus (see below for more information about this test). You can only access this test with your established Purdue career account information.

Required Activities

7:45 a.m.

All new students report to Smith Hall, Room 108. Coffee is available. (campus map, all Purdue maps)

8 a.m.

The opening session for beginning students focuses on the Day on Campus activity schedule, graduation requirements, class scheduling guidelines, experiential educational choices and student services. Parents meet with the associate dean for an informal question-and-answer session while students have their first academic briefing with the assistant dean.

9:05 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Beginning students meet with an academic advisor to
schedule classes. Families are welcome.
All students have pictures taken for Purdue
Identification Card
. (Purdue Memorial Union,
Room 130. Bring a photo I.D.)


Optional Activities

Visit your residence hall. (check www.housing.purdue.edu)
Visit International Programs in Agriculture to learn about study abroad programs. (Agricultural Administration Building, Room 26)
Attend a financial aid information question-and-answer session. Or, visit the Department of Financial Aid online.

• Set up an appointment for a speech and hearing survey
(for now or fall) by calling the Audiology Clinic, (765) 494-4229.
Take Purdue Advanced Credit Examinations to establish Purdue course credits. You’ll find a complete list of these tests in your Office of Admissions / Day on Campus mailing. You can also find the complete list, available study guides, and other information at their online site www.purdue.edu/ODOS/testingcenter/advancedcredit.htm

• No fees are charged for these tests.
• Exams must be authorized by your academic advisor.
• If you plan to take two or more exams, you may want to stay overnight or return on another day.
• Bring to the exam: a photo-bearing identification card; several No.2 pencils; and an exam authorization form signed by your academic advisor for each exam. For math exams, you are allowed a non-graphing, non-programmable calculator with a one- or two-line display. For chemistry or management exams, you’re allowed a graphing or non-graphing calculator.


Can't Come?

We strongly encourage you to attend Day on Campus. If you
cannot, you must complete your registration by June 30 for 2008 fall semester classes by contacting

Calculus Readiness Test

All beginning freshmen in the College of Agriculture must
log on and complete the Calculus Readiness Test (CRT) before
attending Day on Campus and before registering for fall
semester classes.


You may take a practice CRT multiple times. Also, you may take
the regular test up to three times. With a score of 13 or higher,
you are qualified to enroll in a beginning calculus course.


Your high school mathematics performance, standardized test
scores, and educational goals will also be considered in
scheduling a mathematics course.
