ASSIGNMENT #1

Summary Paper - My Professional Goals

By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, you are expected to submit one copy of a 200 - 250 word typewritten or word processed paper (double spaced) on the topic, "My Professional Goals." The paper should address your professional goals after you complete college and indicate the factors...people, events, activities, experiences, etc....that have contributed to the development of your current academic plans and professional goals. Handwritten papers will not be accepted. Please do not use cover sheets, plastic covers, folders, etc. Be sure that your name is on your paper.

You will be awarded (4) points for a satisfactory paper and (0) points for an unsatisfactory paper. If your paper is unsatisfactory, you may attempt to raise your grade to satisfactory by submitting a revised version within two weeks after your original paper is returned to you.

An ungraded photocopy of your paper will be forwarded to your academic program of study coordinator to be included in your records.

ASSIGNMENT #2

International Experience and Interest Assessment


By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, you are expected to complete and submit the International Experience and Interest Assessment. Log on to International Experience and Interest, print document, and submit your completed assessment in class on September 2. You will be awarded (2) points for completing this assignment by the deadline.


ASSIGNMENT #3

Copy of Your Class Schedule - Generated by You Using myPurdue

By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, you are expected to submit a printed copy of your 2008 Fall Semester class schedule that you viewed and printed during September 5-8 using the myPurdue system at http://www.mypurdue.purdue.edu either the line format or block format of your schedule will be acceptable. You will need to print your name on your paper. It will not be printed by the computer.

There are two principal purposes of this class assignment.

1. You are expected to check your class schedule very carefully to be certain that it is accurate. If you find that the courses or class times in your official University class schedule generated via myPurdue during September 5-8 are different from those that you are attending, you have a problem that you must solve very quickly. Please see your academic advisor as soon as possible to discuss this matter. It may be necessary for you to make class schedule revisions.

2. The myPurdue system contains important information about your class schedule and many other items pertaining to Purdue student services. It is very important for you to learn how to use the myPurdue system and to use it regularly while you are at Purdue.

You will be awarded (2) points for accessing and printing your 2008 Fall Semester class schedule from the myPurdue system and submitting a copy to Dr. Graveel by the September 9 deadline.

ASSIGNMENT #4

Register for CCO Express with the Center for Career Opportunities

By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, you are expected to complete your registration for "CCO Express" with the Purdue Center for Career Opportunities. You will be awarded (2) points for successfully completing this assignment. It is strongly recommended that you do not wait to complete this assignment, but begin the process by September 19. If you encounter any problems with "CCO Express" contact Linda Austin at laa@purdue.edu.

To register, click on Center for Career Opportunities Registration Procedures and follow the steps that are provided.

ASSIGNMENT #5

Boiler Volunteer Network

By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 30, you are expected to submit a paragraph desrcibing how you will participate in "Make a Difference Day" which is celebrated on October 25, 2008. You will be awarded (2) points for completing  this assignment and submitting it at the end of class on September 30.

ASSIGNMENT #6

Complete Leadership Assessment

By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, you are expected to complete the "Leadership Self Assessment." Click on Leadership Self Assessment for more details. You will be awarded (2) points for completing this assessment and submitting it at the end of class on October 7.

ASSIGNMENT #7

Survey of Freshmen


By 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, you are expected to complete and return the 2008 Survey of College of Agriculture Freshmen that will be distributed in class on or before September 30. You will be awarded (2) points for completing and submitting the survey response form. If you are not currently a College of Agriculture student, you should also complete the survey form.
