Agronomy Farm
The Agronomy Center for Research and Education (or, Agronomy Farm) was established in 1949 as the campus-based field research station for agronomic crops and soils. The facility serves 53 researchers who conduct approximately 180 research projects.
After a short, general tour, you'll see one of those projects — a prototype tractor-based automatic weed mapping machine that precisely locates and images nearly every weed in a field. Data from the machine could lead to more efficient crop management strategies. In addition, CAL MAR Mapping Services will show how an unmanned aerial vehicle acquires multi-spectral photo images. Sample images will be on display.
Bioanalytical Systems, Inc. (BAS) is a drug development firm providing contract research services and unique products for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. It is a leading manufacturer of specialized instrumentation and accessories for liquid chromatography, in vivo sampling (whole blood, plasma, microdialysis and ultrafiltration), veterinary medicine and electrochemistry.
