1. Initiate new opportunities to enhance the ability of Extension educators to provide improved service to immigrant residents in Indiana. 2. Identify and initiate opportunities to better position Indiana farmers and businesses to compete in the global marketplace in cooperation with Indiana state government. 3. Provide international travel opportunities and resources for Extension educators to build confidence and competence in creating internationally-focused programming.
· International “show and tell” monthly discussions organized over IP video for Extension educators. · Intercultural Action Committee for Extension (IACE) web page development, resource library, and liaison training. Web site is located at http://www.ces.purdue.edu/iace/. · Coordination and development of a new, web-based international extension curriculum to strengthen the ability of Extension educators to internationalize their educational programs. · Development of a database of Extension educators’ involvement related to international aspects of Extension. · Provide grant writing support for Extension specialist faculty. · Secure funding, coordinate human and physical resources, and implement Monterrey Tech University’s Spanish Community Learning Centers in Indiana.
