College-wide input sessions for Ag Dean search set

To Faculty, A/P, Clerical, Service Staff, and Students in Agriculture,

We have begun the critical process of recruiting the next Dean of Purdue University’s College of Agriculture. The search committee is interested in getting faculty, staff and students in the College involved in this search process. We seek your thoughts on the future of agriculture and your opinions about the key attributes we should seek in the next leader of Purdue Agriculture. I’m writing to invite you to participate in a brainstorming session where we hope to address the following topics:

What are the key trends in Indiana, the nation and the world that will affect agriculture, food and natural resources sciences in the next decade?
How can Purdue Agriculture best position itself to carry out its mission in light of these trends?
What do you see as the relative strengths and weaknesses of Purdue Agriculture?
What characteristics and attributes should we seek in the next Dean of the College of Agriculture at Purdue?

All four questions will be addressed at both sessions scheduled:

Tuesday, September 2 from 10:30-12:00 noon &
Friday, September 5 from 1:30-3:00 pm

Deans Auditorium, Pfendler Hall Room 241

Extension field staff may participate in person or watch the presentation streamed live on the web at: mms://video.dis.purdue.edu/agcomm. After September 5, the sessions will be archived and available for viewing via the “Dean of Agriculture Search” link on the Purdue Agriculture home page (http://www.agriculture.purdue.edu/). Questions from remote sites during the sessions will be accepted by email only; send your questions to dmcclure@purdue.edu.

You are encouraged to attend one or both of these brainstorming sessions. If you are unable to participate, please take the opportunity to provide input to any committee member.
