The Purdue University
Cooperative Extension Service includes faculty and staff in the
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will
provide leadership, vision, coordination, and administrative management for
statewide programs in Agricultural and Natural Resources, 4-H Youth
Development, Economic and Community Development, and Consumer and Family
Sciences. Duties also include budget oversight, personnel management, and
ensuring compliance with federal civil rights policies and that all educational
programs are available on a non-discriminatory basis. Responsibilities as
Associate Vice-Provost for Engagement include leadership in university-wide
initiatives designed to match Purdue expertise and resources to statewide needs
by forming effective partnerships to grow the state economy and improve the
quality of life for
Qualifications:
The candidate must have an
earned doctorate and a record of scholarship to merit appointment as a Full
Professor with tenure in an appropriate academic department. The candidate must
have leadership experience in strategic planning, budget and fiscal management,
and program development. Strong written and oral communication skills are
required along with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups
from a variety of cultures.
Experience in public service
activities working with policy makers, personnel management, and an understanding
of and commitment to the broad mission of a land-grant university in Extension is
desired. In addition, interest and/or experience in the university-wide as well
as the international context of Extension are highly desirable. The candidate
must be committed to expanding and fostering diversity in all aspects of Purdue
Extension and University Engagement.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with
qualifications and professional experience. An excellent fringe benefit package
