SHORT BIO

Rado Gazo is presently an Assistant Professor of Wood Processing/Industrial Engineering at Purdue University where he teaches several classes including Secondary Wood Products Manufacturing, Properties of Wood and CNC Manufacturing. When not in a classroom, he conducts research and extension activities in value-added wood products manufacturing and industrial engineering areas. Rado is involved with student recruitment and building up of Purdue's Wood Products Manufacturing Technology undergraduate program.

Before attending graduate school, Rado worked in a sawmill and a furniture company. He received his M.S. in 1989 from the Technical University in Zvolen, Slovakia and his Ph.D. in 1994 from Mississippi State University. Before joining Purdue University, Rado worked as a researcher at the Louisiana Forest Products Laboratory and as a visiting scientist at the New Zealand Forest Research Institute. His research interests include application of industrial engineering techniques to forest products manufacturing. Rado has worked with over 100 companies, published 70 publications, and given more than 60 professional presentations on the subject of secondary wood products manufacturing. See my Kayak project
