Main Page Trees
of Indiana CD
The Trees of Indiana CD-ROM was designed for the
student of dendrology who has some fundamental knowledge of taxonomic
groupings
of trees. Although this knowledge is not essential, it is helpful.
An introductory section explains the difference between hardwoods
and conifers with pictures and descriptions. The CD also includes
a species section with 118 species of trees (102 native to Indiana
and 16 introduced and fairly common in the state). This section
has pictures of each species and descriptions (generally with pictures)
that illustrate important identifying characteristics with the
aid
of the accompanying text.

Avaliable from the MDC or order from your county extension office.

Native Trees of Indiana and Surrounding
States gives detailed descriptions and unique insights into identifying
all the trees
native to Indiana and most of those in the surrounding states.
Descriptive text gives invaluable hints on how to identify species
in any season and is supported with color photographs of all important
characteristics. The book also also presents an evaluation of each
species relative to its potential ornamental value for those interested
in landscaping with native trees.
