Bill programs such as the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP),
the Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP),
the Grassland Reserve Program (GRP),
the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP),
and the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP)
offer up to 50-100 percent cost-share incentives for the establishment
of a variety of land management practices. The primary purpose
of many of these conservation practices is to reduce soil erosion
and improve water quality. However, they can also be established
and maintained in a manner that will maximize their benefit to
wildlife while meeting soil and water conservation goals.
