This property is an excellent example of Central Tillplain Flatlands. This flat or gently rolling terrain is the result of continental glaciation, which deposited glacial till and outwash as the ice advanced and melted from Indiana several times.

While probably not large enough to serve as a major nesting ground for migrating neotropical birds, this property is a wonderful place for migrating birds to stop and rest along the way. Visitors to the property should look and listen for a wide variety of birds as they walk along the trail!
