| The Wildlife Society accomplishes most of its work through committees. Committees
provide an opportunity for our members to become involved in
the planning of events and day-to-day activities necessary for
the successful and smooth operation of our society. Serving
on a committee is a great way to be active in the Indiana Chapter. With
so many committees to chose from you are sure to find one that
suits your interest.
The Awards Committee is responsible for the administration of
the awards made to practitioners in the field of wildlife management. The
role of the committee is to solicit nominations for these awards
and to serve as the evaluation board for the selection of the
winner.
This committee enhances the professional development and personal
growth of our members. To accomplish this goal, the committee

and implements programs to meet this need.
This Committee assists our members with completing the certification
process. The program for certification of wildlife biologists
is a service provided by The Wildlife Society for its members,
as well as nonmembers, who may desire a peer evaluation statement. Certification
constitutes recognition by The Wildlife Society that an applicant
meets the minimum educational, experience, and ethical standards
adopted by the Society for professional wildlife biologists.
The interest generated
by our Endowment Fund is used to fund information and education
projects which benefit our membership
and society.
The mandate of the Farm Bill Committee is to examine legislation
and matters relating to agriculture and the federal farm bill. This
committee advises members and the Executive Board on relevant
developments affecting wildlife management.
This committee is charged with monitoring
local, state, and national issues affecting forest management
and The Wildlife
Society. The committee provides our members and the Executive
Board with technical, tactical, and strategic advice for addressing
