Trees are a major part of our community environment. They benefit us in a myriad of ways. Heating and cooling costs are reduced through properly placed trees around homes and businesses. Trees provide needed windbreaks in open areas and when planted near windows of hospitals and nursing homes, patients' dispositions have been shown to improve. Trees provide as many environmental, aesthetic, and monetary benefits as there are communities.

Study says trees worth $5.7 million a year to Indy
Researchers from the U.S. Forest Service evaluated more than 117,000 trees managed by Indy Parks and Recreation. A new study shows that trees provide an annual $5.7 million benefit in Indianapolis alone.. More
