Welcome to the Rhodes Wildlife Ecology and Genetics research program. My research interests lie at the interface between wildlife ecology and genetics. Much of the research conducted by my students and staff is interdisciplinary in nature and utilizes a mixture of field and laboratory approaches to explore the genetic consequences of species reintroduction programs, the use of genetic markers in applied wildlife management and conservation programs, the use of genetic and ecological information to elucidate mating systems, movement behavior, and population structure of wildlife species in fragmented agricultural environments, and the sustainability of wildlife species in human-dominated landscapes with an emphasis on the resolution of human-wildlife conflicts. You can view descriptions of a number of our ongoing research projects using the research links above (wildlife ecology, wildlife genetics, disease ecology, forest genetics) as well as my current C.V. and a list of publications. I also encourage you to explore the web link to my laboratory as well as those of my students and staff (current and past) to learn more about my research program and the people that make it happen.

I am a professor of Wildlife Ecology and Genetics in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University. If you are interested in applying to work with me as a graduate student I encourage you to view the application materials and admission requirements on our department's Graduate Program and to contact me by email.

I also serve as the director of the Purdue Interdisciplinary Center for ecological Sustainability (PICES), which is affiliated with the Purdue Center for the Environment (C4E) at Discovery Park.
