THE GENETICS LAB

This lab consists of four research programs working

in cooperation with one another in order to

maximize the use of the equipment while minimizing

the costs associated with running a large

molecular genetics laboratory.

PERSONNEL

Gene Rhodes

Gene Rhodes is a full professor in the department of Forestry and Natural Resources and the Director of the Purdue Interdisciplinary Center for Ecological Sustainability.  His research focus is in wildlife ecology and genetics, including studies of the genetic consequences of species reintroduction programs, the use of genetic markers in applied wildlife management and conservation programs, the use of genetic markers to elucidate mating systems, movement behavior, and population structure of wildlife species, and sustainability of wildlife species in human-dominated landscapes with an emphasis on the resolution of human-wildlife conflicts.

Andrew DeWoody

Andrew DeWoody is a faculty member in the department of Forestry and Natural Resources.  Personnel in his laboratory use molecular techniques to study genetics/genomics, behavioral ecology, and population biology.

HTIRC

The Hardwood Tree Improvement and Regeneration Center mission is to develop genetic, molecular and tissue culture technologies and forest and nursery management guidelines for improvement of central hardwood forest productivity.

John Bickham

John Bickham is a full professor in the department of Forestry and Natural Resources as well as the Director of the Center for the Environment in Discovery Park.
