The welfare of wildlife populations throughout much of the U.S. is tied inescapably to the perceptions of agricultural producers concerning crop depredation. An improved understanding of the factors underlying crop depredation problems must precede the development of more robust and affordable strategies to reduce crop losses to wildlife. The first step is the proper identification of the species causing the damage. This publication was developed to assist landowners and professionals in the accurate identification of wildlife damage to corn and soybeans throughout each of the growth and reproductive stages of plant development.
