Jack Kelley, BS 63, Lebanon, Ind., retired after 29 years as a swing nutritionist with Land O’Lakes Inc. and a 40-year career in the feed and swine industries. Larry Wolter, BS 68, Summerfield, Fla., managed the Lake Powhatan Recreation Area in Pisgah National Forest in Asheville, N.C., for the summer and fall of 2008. He works for Cradle of Forestry Association, which manages U.S. Forest Service campgrounds. 1970s
Joe Gill, BS 72, MS 75, Blaine, Wash., moved to the Pacific Northwest with the Department of Homeland Security after 30 years with Farm Credit Services. Mike Gaff, BS 74, Cross City, Fla., was elected president of the Florida Forestry Association. Charles Templeton, BS 76, Frederick, Md., retired from the U.S. Army as a colonel in July after 36 years of service. He now is chief scientist for Science Applications International Corp. in Washington, D.C. 1980s
Alfred Thomas, BS 81, worked at the Gillette Co. for 13 years and then worked in Jamaica for Major Distribution Co. until 2006. He then formed his own company in Jamaica, Pioneer Manufacturing Distribution Co. Ltd. The company employs 32 people and distributes products to supermarkets, pharmacies and wholesalers. Sheila (Robbins) Campbell, BS 84, Downers Grove, Ill., is administrative coordinator for the Real Estate Communications Group, a division of the Law Bulletin Publishing Co. Steve Clay, BS 92, Lansing, Kan., is the assistant director of the Planning and Zoning Department for Leavenworth County. Before moving to Kansas, he was the senior landscape architect/planner for a civil engineering firm in Durango, Colo. Darrel Bossung, BS 95, Lafayette, Ind., and his wife announce the birth of their daughter, Dellaney Della Mae Bossung, on Aug. 22. Stan Ullerich, PhD 95, Storm Lake, Iowa, was recently awarded Buena Vista University’s highest teaching award, the George Wythe Fellowship. He is dean and professor of economics in the Siebens School of Business at BVU and four times since 1999 has been named the faculty member of the year by a vote of the student body. He has served as a visiting professor in Iowa State Universitys Department of Economics and as a visiting scholar at the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand. Melissa (Kasper) Yarbrough, BS 97, Clearwater, Fla., married Andrew Yarbrough on Nov. 1 in North Redington Beach, Fla. John Lapp, BS 98, Fishers, Ind., and his wife, Jennifer, welcomed their second child, a son, on May 13. Kevin Harren, BS 00, Beaumont, Texas, was promoted to senior environmental engineer and relocated to Valero’s Port Arthur, Texas Refinery. Michael Deutsch, BS 01, McCordsville, Ind., and his wife, Beth, announce the birth of their daughter, Victoria May, on Oct. 14. Nancie Corum, BS 02, Mattawan, Mich., has been promoted to associate winemaker at St. Julian Wine Co. Inc. While continuing to work full time at St. Julian, she recently enrolled in an MS/MBA program. She is working on a masters in business administration from Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a masters in agricultural economics from Purdue.
