Aside from the initial outlay of cash to buy a go-kart, Hirst has found karting to be relatively inexpensive. The brand new New Castle Raceway charges $20 for a practice session.
 
Running by himself on the New Castle track allows Hirst to concentrate on getting to know the best way to maneuver around the course.
     

All of the information displayed on Hirst’s onboard computer can be downloaded onto a laptop computer for lap-by-lap analysis.
