'72 grad leads Indiana Farm Bureau
A Purdue College of Agriculture graduate has succeeded
another as president of Indiana's largest farm organization.
Don Villwock, BS '72, was elected president of the Indiana
Farm Bureau during the group's annual convention in Indianapolis on
Dec. 14. He assumed the duties of president Jan. 1, succeeding Harry
L. Pearson, BS '59, who retired after leading the organization since
1987.
The Farm Bureau has endowed four scholarships in Purdue's
College of Agriculture in the name of Pearson. The $1,000 scholarships
will be awarded annually, starting next fall, to Indiana students exhibiting
exceptional leadership ability. One scholarship will go to a student
in each of these departments: agricultural communication, agricultural
economics, agricultural education and animal sciences.
Villwock is the owner and operator of a 2,000-acre farm
near Edwardsport, Ind.
