Photo gallery of a day with Tim Clark at the Colt World Series
Photos by Tom Campbell
Tim Clark talks to the umpires before the start of a Colt World Series game at Lafayette’s Loeb Stadium.
By the time the tournament concludes its eight-day run, Clark seems to know everyone in the crowd.
Clark is in charge of game-day management, ensuring that everything runs smoothly at the stadium, including the public address announcements from the press box.
Clark says the series has thrived in Lafayette thanks to volunteers, both young and old, whose duties include selling programs and operating raffles.
Clark first became involved in the Colt World Series as a host for visiting players from around the world. His involvement now includes helping run the tournament as a board member.
Clark has fun with Colt World Series officials, serving up half a hot dog to their front-row location on opening night.
Clark tries to make sure everybody has fun at the ballpark so that first-time visitors become regular customers.
Thousands of fans turn out every summer to watch some of the best young baseball players in the world participate in the Colt World Series.
