Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope

  • Zeiss LSM 710 upright 337 Horticulture Building
    This is the state-of-the-art upright confocal microscope. Spectral scanning, multi-tracking, multi-dimensional acquisition, Z-stack, time series, 2.5-D, 3-D, FRAP, FRET, Multi-time, ion concentration, ratiometric imaging.

  • Zeiss Imaging workstation337 Horticulture Building
    After you log off of the Zeiss LSM 710, your files are uploaded onto the server, and you can access them at the workstation through your OnePurdue account.
    The workstation allows you to do analyses of your data so that the confocal microscope is open for the next user.

    Data acquisition and processing:
    The microscopes are primarily for image acquisition. Images should be processed and analysed at the workstation or in your own lab whenever possible.
    Reference images are stored on the LSFIF computer so you can re-use your settings. After you have not been actively using the facility for 6 months, your data will be deleted without notification.

 

Epifluorescence Microscope

  • Zeiss Axio Observer- Inverted 337 Horticulture Building

    Data acquisition and processing:
    The microscopes are primarily for image acquisition. Images should be processed and analysed in your own lab whenever possible.
    Data should be stored on your OnePurdue account. Youare responsible for safe backups of your data. After you have not been actively using the facility for 6 months, your data will be deleted without notification.

 

Robotics

  • Intavis InSitu ProVS 326 Horticulture Building
  • The preparative robot can do dehydration series, hybridization incubations for in situs and immunolocalizations, and rehydration series. You can use whole tissues (in baskets) or sections (on slides). This labor saving device frees you from all those tedious steps so you can be doing more fun experiments. It is perfect for high through-put projects.

The facility is user driven, and so itís BYOC: e.g. slides, cover slips, lens paper, immersion media, etc.
