Pinney-Purdue Agricultural Center (PPAC)

At this center located on the Porter-LaPorte County Line, researchers work on both agronomic and vegetable crops. Their projects include studies on insect and disease control, variety trials, nitrate soil testing, plant spacing and planting dates, use of animal waste as fertilizer, and cultivation of herbs.

Center staff have installed an irrigation system to allow research under irrigation, which is increasingly important in this part of the state.
