Taking land and water conservation
to new levels

Land and water—how we use and conserve these two life essentials in our homes, communities, businesses and industries affects countless others. And the actions of the communities that we affect are passed on to still others. In a sense, we all live downstream.

Soil and water conservation is an ongoing process. Purdue University researchers are working to identify new pollutants in our waterways and determine their effect on people and wildlife. Purdue Extension educational programs link land-use and watershed planning at the local level.
