This year's freshman class of Purdue University's College of Agriculture is better than ever.
With 532 freshman students, the enrollment number is only slightly less than last year's freshman class and is still above previous years' numbers. The students' high school rank in class is slightly higher than last year.
Dale Whittaker, director of academic programs and associate dean of Purdue Agriculture, is pleased with the enrollment numbers and the overall quality of the class.
"We also have about 64 students in the Dean's Scholars Program," Whittaker says, "or a little over 10 percent of the freshman class." Freshmen who receive the Purdue Agriculture Scholarship Award of Excellence are eligible for the program.
