Purdue Agriculture juniors Markelle Grossman, Melody Marshall and Amanda Zeltner are the inventors of SoySnaps, a soybean-based snack cracker that was the winning entry in the Soybean Utilization Contest. The annual competition is sponsored by Purdue and the Indiana Soybean Board. Previous contests have produced soybean crayons, candles, ski wax, lip balm, fire starter, breakfast cereal, gelatin and dessert topping.
