The Indiana Folic Acid Council was formed in 2002 as a joint venture of the Purdue Foods and Nutrition Department, Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service and the March of Dimes. Funding for this program is provided by a Folic Acid Council Leadership Award from the March of Dimes.
The Council seeks to inform women of childbearing age of the benefits of folic acid consumption to the health of their babies. In addition, it seeks to inform men and women of all ages of the research based benefits of folic acid consumption.
