Ohio State University to hold Field Crops Day July 26

CUSTAR, Ohio - Soybeans will be the focus of Ohio State University's Field Crops Day, July 26 at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center’s (OARDC) Northwestern Agricultural Research Station.

The event, which runs 6-8:30 p.m., includes a wagon tour of the Agronomic Crops Trials at the research station during which Ohio State experts will talk about the latest innovations in field crops. Topics include soybean disease management and seed treatments, sprayer tank water quality, weed resistance issues, and insect challenges facing producers in the 2012 growing season.

No registration is required for the event, which is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Participants may contact Matt Davis at davis.1095@osu.edu or 419-257-2060 for more information.

The research station is at 4240 Range Line Road, Custar. It’s about 2.5 miles northeast of Hoytville at the corner of Oil Center and Range Line roads.
