"Preparedness at Home & Abroad"

General Myers led the United States military through four years of tumultuous change on the international and domestic stage, from October 1, 2001 and concluding with his retirement in September 2005. From our engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan to the military's heroic role following Hurricane Katrina, Myers was the principal military advisor to the President, the Defense Secretary, and the National Security Council in his role as Joint Chiefs Chairman. In his presentation, Myers offers analysis on military, security, and preparedness matters at home and abroad.

General Myers is a command pilot with more than 4,100 flying hours. He was a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, and his career includes operational command and leadership positions in a variety of Air Force and Joint assignments. He was the first Air Force general to serve as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs in two decades. General Myers is a native Kansan and is a graduate of both Kansas State and Auburn Universities .

  • Mail orders (check payable to Ag Alumni Association):
    Purdue Ag Alumni Association, 715 W. State St., West Lafayette,
    IN 47907-2061.  Download a ticket order form here to mail or FAX.
     
  • College of Agriculture alumni and donor orders receive priority until
    December 31, as will orders from those who purchased tickets in 2004 and 2005.
     
  • Orders from the general public will be accepted at any time, but will not be filled until after December 31.
     
  • All tables are reserved - seat location will be based on date order is received. Persons wanting to sit together should order tickets together. Note that this year's seating is at round tables with 10 persons per table.
     
  • ONCE AGAIN, PARK WITH EASE Purchase an advance parking permit for the lot in front of the Marsh Blue Ribbon Pavilion, or in one of the nearby parking lots. Order your parking permit when you order your tickets. Cars without parking permits will pay $3 to park on the fairgrounds, and will not be guaranteed the location of available parking.
  • Once again, on-site child care is available. Advance reservations are required . Make reservations on your order form, or call Ag Alumni office by February 1 to arrange - (765) 494-8593.
  • Round-trip bus transportation is available from West Lafayette . Cost is $5 per person. Reservations are required, and space is limited. Reserve your space when you order your tickets.
